Tom Wood is a Norwegian jewellery and lifestyle brand established in 2013. With our headquarter in Oslo (Norway), the company consists of 40 employees based out of Oslo, Paris, Barcelona, New York and Tokyo. Our products are to be found in over 300 of the most recognized retailers world wide such as Dover Street Market, Isetan, KITH, Boon The Shop and Space Mue. We are soon ready to open our first brand store in Tokyo, Japan, and are now starting the search for our next super-talented store manager.
Job description
As Store Manager in our Tokyo Flagship Store, you will be a key representative for Tom Wood and have an important role when it comes to establishing our first ever store in Japan.
Key responsibilities for the role will be to build a solid Tom Wood retail team, establishing a loyal customer base and deliver world class service to our end consumer in accordance with our company values.
As Store Manager, you will be the go-to person for questions regarding our products and our brand, and an important part of the role is to acquire all the knowledge needed for you to be able to communicate our brand ethos with our retail team and our end consumer.
Key Responsibilities for the position
- Develop and implement operation, customer service, sales and profitability in collaboration with the Chief Commercial Officer («CCO, hereafter»), according to our Company policy and guidelines
- Develop and implement work routines for the Tom Wood Store and ensure that these are followed by employees, practicing an active presence and coaching on a daily basis
- Establishing a solid customer base by building long term relationships and provide high-end customer service in accordance with our brand and company guidelines
- Assist in relation to profitability analyzes and budgeting in collaboration with the CCO
- Assist in the necessary recruitment and employment processes to get the best team in place
- Assist in the planning of all merchandising and campaign activities to take place in the store, in collaboration with the marketing/PR team in the Company
- Responsible for planning and facilitating day-to-day activities in the store and ensuring that the store's channels are updated in accordance with the Company's PR and Marketing department
- Responsible for ensuring that the store always looks in perfect condition, and that the products are presented in the best possible way and in line with the Company's guidelines
- Be the primary responsible for handling training of Tom Wood retail employees in Japan, and ensure that a high level of product knowledge and motivation is obtained at all times
- Responsible for building a good and positive work culture among all employees in the store, with a high degree of motivation and enthusiasm
- Responsible for the store's budgets and follow up the employees in relation to performance and sales
- Have responsibility for routines around inventory and reporting in accordance with the Company's routines for this
- Weekly reporting to the CCO in the Company
The Ideal Candidate
- Preferably 3 + years experience within store management
- Experience within sales of high-end and/or luxury products
- Experience and interest within the fashion and jewellery industry
- Organized and structured way of working
- Experience from leading a team of 5+ people
- Business and growth mindset for the Japanese market
- English skills both written and orally
Start date: Preferably in the beginning of September 2023.
