Our products are proudly showcased in over 200 esteemed retailers worldwide, and as we expand internationally, we seek a visionary Wholesale Director to drive our wholesale strategy, foster growth, and strengthen our global presence.
About the role
The Wholesale Director at Tom Wood will play a central role in advancing our global wholesale operations, leading a team that reflects our values of innovation and growth. This role extends beyond traditional sales, seeking a leader who can craft and execute strategies to strengthen Tom Wood’s brand, increase revenue, and drive global expansion.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with extensive experience in wholesale, bringing a data-driven approach, commercial insight, and strategic vision to their decisions. Success in this role requires building collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering a high-performance culture, and supporting Tom Wood's mission.
The Wholesale Director will be based in Oslo, reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and managing a team across regions. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape Tom Wood’s global wholesale reach and influence our brand’s future in key international markets.
Key responsibilities
Global strategy and leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive global sales and distribution strategy, aligning with Tom Wood’s overall brand vision and commercial goals
- Lead and inspire a high-performing wholesale team across multiple regions, ensuring alignment on priorities and fostering a collaborative culture
- Cultivate strong partnerships with key accounts, agents, and external partners to optimize market positioning and brand visibility
Performance management and growth
- Drive and monitor global sales budgets, ensuring profitable growth and optimizing operational efficiency
- Design and implement seasonal and territory-specific activation plans, ensuring maximum impact and alignment with local market dynamics
- Analyze monthly performance data from all territories, presenting actionable insights and strategic recommendations to the CCO and leadership
Brand representation and customer engagement
- Coordinate and oversee customer sales meetings, presentations, and events in key markets to reinforce brand narrative and drive customer loyalty
- Ensure regular showrooms (digital and physical) are executed effectively, showcasing collections to existing and potential partners at major global markets
Team development and training
- Develop and implement a robust training program for sales teams and agents, promoting brand consistency, in-depth product knowledge, and professionalism across all customer touchpoints
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence within the wholesale team, identifying growth opportunities and championing professional development
The ideal candidate
- Proven international experience in a wholesale leadership role, preferably within luxury/high-end fashion
- Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach, demonstrating exceptional analytical skills and the ability to translate insights into impactful strategies
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, with fluency in English (knowledge of Scandinavian languages is a plus)
- Deep understanding of the global fashion wholesale landscape, including emerging trends in both physical and online distribution
- Adaptable and solutions-oriented, with experience in dynamic, entrepreneurial environments
- Passionate about fashion, sustainability, and creating meaningful customer experiences
