About the job

As Head of Sustainability at Tom Wood you will play a central role in shaping and executing our vision to be a recognized leader in sustainable jewelry. You will be responsible for implementing our sustainability strategy across the people, product, and planet pillars. You will drive transformative change in environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and ethical practices. 

The Head of Sustainability will ensure that Tom Wood remains resilient, adaptable, and a model for responsible luxury as we grow globally.

Key  Responsibilities

• Create and implement a forward-looking sustainability strategy aligned with Tom Wood’s business objectives and growth goals, ensuring sustainability is integrated across all company activities
• Be data-driven, establish and proactively use performance metrics to assess the impact of sustainability initiatives, refining approaches based on results and evolving trends
• Identify and address sustainability-related risks, such as climate change impacts and regulatory shifts, identify mitigating actions to support Tom Wood’s operational resilience
• Ensure compliance with international sustainability standards and regulations, ensuring Tom Wood’s adherence and improvement
• Continue to develop and adjust our framework ensuring compliance to industry standards and regulations, while supporting our three sustainability pillars
• Act as a sustainability advocate within and on behalf of Tom Wood, building partnerships with NGOs, industry groups, and regulatory bodies
• Engage with industry forums and stakeholder discussions to position Tom Wood as a responsible brand and thought leader in sustainable practices
• Plan and deploy digitalization of carbon accounting and other tools to increase internal insight in collaboration with our CTO/CFO
• Own and and push the development of Tom Wood’s annual sustainability report, providing clear updates on progress toward our sustainability commitments
• Champion initiatives to introduce sustainable materials, responsible manufacturing, and circular economy principles across Tom Wood’s product lines
• Be a driver of value creation through end-of-life solutions or other commercially oriented initiatives in collaboration with our Commercial and Product departments
• Lead communication of Tom Wood’s sustainability efforts, ensuring transparency and consistency in messaging
• Regularly report to the C-suite and other stakeholders on sustainability progress, providing actionable insights to reinforce Tom Wood’s position as a responsible jewelry brand.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in sustainability leadership, ideally in luxury, fashion, or consumer goods sectors
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related fields; advanced degree preferred
• Proven ability to lead and deliver cross-functional initiatives and engage stakeholders effectively
• Strong data analysis skills, with a capacity to apply metrics in decision-making and strategic adjustments
• Knowledge of sustainability trends, supply chain practices, and regulatory standards in the luxury or jewelry industry
• Clear and effective communication for both internal teams and external audiences
