We are now seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join our team as we continue our growth.
About the role
As our Purchasing Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient production at Tom Wood. You will be responsible for securing production capacity through optimized forecasts and scheduling, managing bulk orders, and overseeing cost control and financial accuracy throughout the procurement process.
You will also handle sustainability documentation, stay updated on material prices, and build strong collaboration with suppliers to ensure optimal performance across the supply chain.
The role requires effective communication across departments, operation of purchasing and forecasting systems, and active contribution to sustainability initiatives. You will also support the finance department through data analysis and reporting, helping to ensure transparency and informed decision-making.
The role is a part of our Finance department and reports to the CFO.
Key responsibilities
- Secure production capacity for each purchasing window by optimizing forecasts and ensuring efficient and timely production scheduling
- Place and manage bulk orders with suppliers for both packaging and jewelry products
- Oversee cost control, purchase order alignment, and ensure financial accuracy in procurement
- Manage and oversee documentation related to sustainability and CoC
- Stay updated on current material prices at all times for optimized cost effectiveness
- Conduct continuous follow-up with suppliers to ensure seamless collaboration and optimal performance throughout the supply chain
- Ensure effective communication across departments to maintain an optimized supply chain flow
- Operate purchasing and forecasting systems, ensuring accurate predictions and inventory optimization in collaboration with other departments
- Contribute actively to Tom Wood’s responsibility goals by staying updated on sustainability developments and driving initiatives within procurement
- Perform various data analysis and reporting for the finance department
Who we are looking for
- Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement, sales, supply chain management, or finance
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and sound decisions
- High proficiency in Excel, with experience working with large datasets, ERP systems, and/or forecasting tools
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring reliability, quality, and collaboration
- Structured, organized, and proactive, with meticulous attention to detail and strong follow-through
- Strong problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented mindset, able to navigate challenges independently and cross-functionally
- Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage
- Knowledge of sustainability and responsible sourcing is a plus
- A collaborative team player with curiosity, accountability, and a drive for continuous improvement
